About the Journal
The Journal of Research on the History of the Republic of Türkiye is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that publishes original studies on the historical, political, social, economic, and cultural developments of the Republic of Türkiye from its foundation to the present.
The journal is published twice a year and employs a double-blind peer review process. It accepts original research articles, review papers, archival studies, and works on intellectual history.

The Journal of Research on the History of the Republic of Türkiye is a double-blind peer-reviewed and open-access academic journal that rigorously examines the historical, political, social, economic, and cultural processes of the Republic of Türkiye from its foundation to the present. The journal is published twice a year (January and July) and does not charge any article processing or submission fees.
Publication Ethics and International Standards
The journal fully adheres to national and international standards of scholarly publishing and commits itself to the following ethical frameworks:
- COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) – Core Practices and Ethical Guidelines,
- COPE / DOAJ / OASPA / WAME joint statement on “Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing”,
- ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) recommendations on publication ethics,
- Budapest Open Access Initiative principles,
- Transparency and integrity responsibilities of editors, reviewers, and authors.
Plagiarism Policy
All submissions to the journal are screened for similarity using Turnitin prior to editorial evaluation. Manuscripts with a similarity rate exceeding 20% are reviewed in detail and may be rejected if necessary.
- Any detected plagiarism, excessive self-citation, or unethical behavior results in immediate rejection.
- In cases of ethical misconduct, relevant institutions and readers are formally informed.
Open Access and Copyright Policy
Articles published in the journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This license allows:
- Sharing, reproduction, and adaptation of works with proper attribution,
- Use of content for non-commercial purposes only,
- Academic use without additional permissions.
DOAJ and Transparency Principles
The journal is structured in accordance with the criteria of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing. The Editorial Board is actively preparing and aligning processes for DOAJ indexing and compliance.
Archiving and Digital Preservation
The journal content is preserved within the OJS/PKP infrastructure to ensure long-term digital preservation. The system is compatible with LOCKSS and CLOCKSS archiving standards.
Editorial Responsibility and Contact
The Editorial Board is committed to academic merit, impartiality, and transparency. All evaluation processes are conducted solely on the basis of scholarly quality and contribution.
